GENDER PAY GAP REPORT 2025

Narrative

Winterwood Farms Ltd (“WWD”) is a soft fruit company employing in 2024/2025, around 250 employees in any given week all year round. The number changes ±~25% depending on the season and is a mixture of part and full time.

On the Report’s snapshot date WWD had ~55% female relevant & full pay employees and ~45% male relevant & full pay employees. This figure tends to stay very similar every year.

The Company’s Mean Gender Pay Gap in hourly pay was 9.0% (i.e. female pay was 9.0% lower than men’s pay), whilst the Median Gender Pay Gap in hourly pay was 6.0% (i.e. female pay was 6.0% lower than male pay). It is important to note that each role within the Company is paid the same to both sexes, and that this difference simply shows that slightly more females have taken up the lower paid roles than males, rather than females being paid less to do the same role.

Bonus Pay figures show that, whilst 4.1% of male relevant employees received bonus pay, 31.3% of female relevant employees were paid bonuses. Mean Gender Pay Gap in Bonuses was 63.9% and Median Gender Pay Gap in Bonus was 59.2%. The WWD bonus scheme is based mainly on the employee’s performance & incentive, regardless of gender. The figures show that more bonuses were achieved by female relevant employees than male relevant employees.

Winterwood Farms has been required by law to publish Gender Pay Gap Report since 2018. This is now our 8th published Report, the Company’s track record regarding equality has been good. The Upper Middle Hourly Pay Quarter has near-equal representation of male and female employees, with the Lower Hourly Pay Quarter showing more proportionate split this year, compared to previous 2 years.
As Pay is assigned to the specific role, and both male and female employees in the same position receive the same Pay, the Gap in Pay is due to the different roles taken up by men and women within the Company.
The Company continues to uphold its efforts in closing any Pay Gap identified and also continue to ensure that all arising opportunities are readily available to all.
